Founded at the 2015 NASC Leadership Conference in New Mexico, the goal of the Nutmeg Student Caucus is to build awareness of the twin pillars that Student Councils and Student Governments exist for: namely to develop and foster an awareness, and understanding of our democratic system; and to build leaders ready for the challenges of the 21st century. Understanding that the core principle of leadership is always service to others.
Goals:
- To support and encourage Student Councils and Student Governments from Connecticut to participate at the national level by attending NASC conferences.
- To support and encourage Student Councils and Student Governments from Connecticut to empower and reflect on their organizations through participation in the NASC Council of Excellence Program.
- To encourage Student Councils and Student Governments to exercise their civic role as a voice in their building.
- To create a network to support Student Council and Student Government advisors to empower their student leaders.
